Learn how to view free space and free up storage on the Samsung Galaxy J7.

  • Except moving app to SD card, you may also want to save some space by moving other files to SD card. Swipe up or down from the Home screen to access Apps. Touch the Samsung folder, and then touch My Files. Navigate to the file you want to move, and then touch and hold the file.
  • Free up space To download more apps and media, or help your phone run better, you can clear space on your phone. Storage is where you keep data, like music and photos.

TV: UE55 NU7500 I'm not sure whether this is a general Samsung issue or just to do with my TV, but the amount of space allocated to the Smart Hub apps seems to be seriously lacking. As this is a new TV I thought I'd explore some of the available apps, but when I went into the Apps area I got a mes. Tap the blue CLEAN NOW button. This button will delete all the cached, residual and advertisement files on your Galaxy to free up some storage. This button will display how much extra space you can gain by cleaning unnecessary data. For example, if the button is labeled (+100 MB), you will gain 100 megabytes of storage space by cleaning now.

Set text and multimedia message limits to delete messages automatically. The default is 200 text and 20 picture messages. You may use this setting to start with, and decrease it if you continue to have problems.

  1. From any Home screen, tap Messaging.
  2. Tap the More or Menu icon.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Tap More settings.
  5. Tap Delete old messages.
  6. Slide the Delete old messages Switch right to the ON position.

Change Gmail synchronization setting to every three days

  1. From any Home screen, tap the Apps icon.
  2. Tap Gmail.
  3. Tap the Menu key and then tap Settings.
  4. Tap your email address.
  5. Tap Days of mail to sync.
  6. Swipe down until 3 is selected.
  7. Tap OK.

Clear storage regularly

It must be over 150 MB for your device. The Android system cannot work properly if the internal device storage is below 150 MB. If under 150 MB, use the following tips to clear more storage:

  • Delete unnecessary text messages (SMS) and picture messages (MMS)
  • Transfer pictures and media to a computer to remove them from the phone memory
  • Clear the browser cache, cookies, or history
  • Clear Facebook app cache
  • Manage applications. See section below
  • Delete the call logs

  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Apps.
  4. Tap the desired application in the default list or tap Menu icon > Show system apps to display preinstalled apps.
  5. Tap Uninstall and then tap OK.

  1. From any Home screen, tap the App tray.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Applications then tap Application manager.
  4. Tap the desired application in the default list or tap MORE > Show system apps to display preinstalled apps.
  5. Tap Uninstall and then tap OK.
